Hi there, I’m John Lucas Bellingall.
A creative developer pivoting into Marketing.
Scroll down to learn more about me and see some of my projects.
Career
I have a first-class Digital Media degree from the University of Leeds and three years’ work experience at Dynamic Business Services, where I advanced from placement to a managerial role.
Skills
I have experience in HTML, CSS, JS, MySQL, and API integration, and expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud, Unity, AR/VR, and applied AI workflows.
Next steps
Leveraging my technical background and interest in marketing, I am transitioning into data-driven marketing to focus on delivering measurable business growth.
Briefly, my experience
My Digital Media degree from the University of Leeds provided a versatile foundation that I have actively applied as a Creative Developer at Dynamic Business Services. Working with global clients such as World Rugby, the NHS, and Warner Music, I have built a wide array of digital experiences, ranging from traditional web platforms to immersive XR and 360° environments. Leveraging my expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite, my strong suit lies in creative problem-solving and visual thinking.
As my career progressed, my responsibilities expanded management. Alongside managing junior developers and guiding their workflows to ensure high-quality output, I also worked as lead-developer in high-stake projects. A defining example was the Zero Suicide Alliance project, an award-winning innitiave that reached millions of users and earned official recognition from the Mayor of London.

Beyond creative development, I have actively sought out roles that drive measurable audience engagement. As Head of Digital and Communications for the Cheltenham International Film Festival, I streamlined digital distribution systems and focused on high-leverage growth strategies. Most notably, I strategised the external YouTube distribution of a high-profile interview we conducted; this initiative generated over 30 thousand organic views and drove a massive influx of attention directly to the festival.
While my development career has been highly rewarding, the resulting products have primarily been internal compliance tools disconnected from outward business metrics. I am now actively shifting my focus toward data-driven marketing, a discipline I am deepening through targeted courses and practical work experience.
I am currently seeking a marketing role where my impact is measured by tangible performance data. By combining my understanding of digital product construction with this strategic focus, my goal is to analyse user metrics, optimise campaigns, and drive genuine, revenue-focused growth.
“What I particularly value about John is his ability to take initiative when needed, but also to
follow instructions when that’s what the task requires. He’s thoughtful, dependable, and
always willing to go the extra mile to meet deadlines.
Equally important — he’s a real pleasure to work with. Quietly confident, positive, and supportive — exactly the kind of person you want around when things get busy or the pressure is on.”
